In the latest episode of “Coffee Runs,” the always-controversial Deadmau5 takes Laidback Luke on an extended jaunt through the city of Miami, ironically never stopping for coffee. Their 26-minute conversation is equal parts funny and awkward; Luke understands Mau5’s jokes almost as often as he misses the punch line.
The length of their excursion leaves plenty of time to run the gamut of conversation, and there are moments where Joel’s opinionated personality and Luke’s pleasant demeanor don’t exactly mesh, like when Luke dubs Skrillex one of the “last rock stars,” to which Joel reluctantly replies, “I guess.” For the most part though, the pair seems to enjoy each other’s company, as they joke about everything from Gina Turner’s aggressive driving techniques to the absurdity of Ultra ticket prices.
