We’ve all seen the mysterious DJ get-up. Fancy branding, timely releases, subtle messages, hopefully resulting in a quicker growth rate than average.
But one artist is making a bang with his tongue-and-cheek artwork he has released. Capturing the attention of blogs, articles featuring his artwork garnered 6K likes/shares from blogs such as EDM.com, YourEDM.com, and more. And he hasn’t even dropped a track yet, until today.
His art obviously pairs DJs known for ghost producing, pre-recording, creating more monotonous formulaic music, ect. as shams and shames, publicly reminding the Internet that certain figures in the industry are perhaps more remembered by their flaws than successes.
Demur just dropped his first release today, a remix of the rebellious anti-establishment band Nirvana. The tune is, well, like nothing I’ve ever heard.
It embraces elements of rock and bass music, but with a live drums feel that’s has rarely been paired with such an electronic sound before, at least to my knowledge.
Whoever this guy is, he doesn’t mind firing shots at main stage DJs and embracing a purist, “truthful” philosophy about what artists should bring to the dance music community.
