Danny Olson has yet another Seeking Blue release out now, this time teaming up with RUNN to drop the fascinating vibe “I Hope You Know.” This release is a follow up to his “Waking Up,” single, which was an all-around success and helped put Danny Olson more on the map. Both singles are a tease of the upcoming EP Firelight release, which will be dropping in early September 2022.
Within “I Hope You Know,” there is a sentimental positivity that comes from it. It fully romanticizes the experience of music and the many ways one can interact with it over the course of a human life. The single utilizes brass notes and mixes it alongside a future-tinged beat. The mood is both hopeful and somber all in the same go, playing out like a ‘rise from the ashes’ type of scene one may find in a movie. The song rises way above the flood of singles that the world now experiences, Danny Olson clearly caring about the crafting process and putting his all into the music that he makes.
“‘I Hope You Know’ is the second chapter of my journey following the sudden passing of my Dad. Very often, I experience moments of complete disbelief, questioning if there really is anything after death. Is he still here? Is his spirit still around me? In those times of doubt and frustration, I like to think that this song is my Dad speaking to me, and that those words help provide clarity and reassurance that he’s up there, watching over and guiding us all.”
