Shortly after the DJ Mag Top 100 results were available on the internet Joel Zimmerman, deadmau5, hilariously tweeted about how “unreal” it is to be ranked twelfth this year. He landed just behind Skrillex and close friend (lol), Afrojack.
It’s pretty “unreal“ that Joel reached #12 without any advertisement or media team pushing for fans to vote – especially because he doesn’t actually DJ. We expected Zimmerman to poke fun at the list.
Like many people, deadmau5 doesn’t take the DJ Mag Top 100 seriously and neither do we. It’s simply a popularity contest and often actual DJ’s like A-Trak or Z-Trip are left out.
Our friends that run DoAndroidsDance created a list of DJ’s that should have made the top 100. Check out those names, we completely agree.
