Iconic Canadian progressive-house producer, Deadmau5, has been the focus of much of the talk in the dance music scene as of late, with his long-awaited album (entitled While (1<2)) being scheduled for release in under two weeks, and off of which he has been gradually dropping teaser tracks, such as Seeya (featuring the vocals of Colleen D’Agostino), Avaritia, and most recently, Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer. In addition to being one of the most revered figures in the electronic music industry, it is common knowledge that Joel Zimmerman [Deadmau5] is a notorious troll, with his latest endeavour being to have entered his flamboyant Nyan Cat-themed Ferrari 458 spider, dubbed “The Purrari”, in the Gumball 3000 rally (a large scale road event which runs its course from Miami to Ibiza over seven days), alongside Mythbusters’ Tory Belleci.
Renowned for always putting in a concerted effort to keep his fans involved, and engaged, Joel has given members of his private subscription-based site, live.deadmau5.com, a unique viewing experience of all of the action, which will be broadcast with an interactive livestream, which is explained in the following official statement : “Multiple Realtime Immersion (RTI) 360 Hummingbird cameras positioned throughout the car will allow fans to have unprecedented control, with ability to pan, tilt, and zoom within the video, as if they are controlling a live camera or experiencing the action first hand.”
Always experimenting with the latest cutting-edge technologies for the enjoyment of his fans, Deadmau5 undoubtedly pushes the boundaries of what can be made possible, and this week-long coverage of the rally will most definitely not be something to miss! Furthermore, fans can also be looking forward to his next tour, which promises to bring his live performance to another level with the brand new stage production that he has in the works.
