Earlier today, Deadmau5 made another brief appearance on Twitter to announce to fans that he has lowered the ticket prices to his New Years Eve event, which is set to take place at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. This announcement is in the wake of his rant earlier this week, where he came back to Twitter to call out a club in Montreal on their unreasonably high ticket prices to an “unhooked” show in January. Joel resolved that issue swiftly, and it appears that he has managed to do the same for this event, which promises to be an extraordinary way to kick off the new year. With the rising popularity of “EDM”, and thusly, the rising of ticket prices over the past few years (see: Ultra), it is refreshing to see an artist finally speak out about this issue, and even more impressive to see them actually implement a functional solution.
This is yet another example of how Deadmau5 makes the effort to put his fans first, and he is renowned for keeping himself accountable to them. These upcoming gigs are sure to be quite memorable, and will likely showcase the new tunes that he has been busy working on in the studio lately. Although many mau5 fans are disappointed that he has left Twitter, Joel has been very productive over the past several weeks, with the launch of his new private site for fans, as well as having announced the near-completion of a new album, which we can look forward to hearing in the near future!
