Back in December, Deadmau5 and Imogen Heap went on a search to find 20 animators from all over the globe to produce the video for their ‘Telemiscommunications’ collaboration. The video (debuted today) presents the artwork from all 20 contest winners sewn together in segments that depict the tale of a modern day technologically driven love story.
The low tempo original track is much different than your typical Deadmau5 piece relying mainly on soft electronics to accent Imogen’s melancholy vocals. The artistic vision of the song extends well into the video, serving as a good partner release to their remix album which also debuted today. The full singles package features an eclectic mix of sound from Crookers, Kölsch, John Roman and Copy Paste Soul.
Heapmau5 also hosted a Google + Hangout today in which they discussed their collaboration for the first time face to face for fans. They admit they haven’t had the opportunity to personally interact much throughout the creative process so the conversation is very candid.
