With nearly 100k plays in one day, it’s safe to say that Deadmau5 & Kat Von D‘s collaboration, titled ‘Satellite’, is set to be a hit. Mau5 uploaded a demo of the record on his SoundCloud labeling it as a “rough draft” with lots of work to still be done. The sample embedded below gives us a taste of the dark, “blackmetal” style that they are shooting for. What really caught my ear was the high energy build that dropped into a funky beat reminiscent of trap music.
Although this record is clearly unfinished, I believe that these soon to be newlyweds are on to something big. I’m really interested in seeing how ‘Satellite’ develops, I’m sure Joel will keep us updated.
