When news broke that Avicii wouldn’t be able to close out Ultra Music Festival day two, many fans were upset to say the least. Quickly rumors spread that deadmau5 would be taking his place and the internet was very confused. Last year Mr. Mau5 was stoked to leave Ultra Records and cut ties with everything Ultra related. Though, just hours after rumors surfaced UMF took to Twitter to confirm the addition of deadmau5.
After a series of tweets it was obvious that his set was going to be like nothing we’ve ever experienced. After all, Joel’s a master troll, so you’ll never know what he’s going to pull.

His set started off normally and quickly moved into a version of “Raise Your Weapon” – everything seemed to be going great. That was until Zimmerman unleashed two hilarious edits, one of “Animals” and one of “Ghosts N Stuff”.

Over all I think the people of Ultra got a solid performance out of deadmau5. He had some fun and still managed to pull off an entertaining set. Despite the fact that he confused the crowd with some minimal tech-y tunes for a while, Joel played many classics and unreleased records – which is way more than we expect from him.
Also, as I’m sure he expected, many people were upset with his trolling.
