Deadmau5 fans have endured an arduous wait for the iconic Canadian progressive house producer to drop his seventh full-length album, having only been fed mere tidbits of information over the past couple months. Further increasing the anticipation, Deadmau5 has recently divulged the title, release date, as well as cover art for his upcoming album through a post on his private subscription-based platform, live.deadmau5.com.
Notorious for his witty album titles, this two-disc, 25 track LP will be aptly named While (1<2), which is programming code for “to loop indefinitely”, and will be released in just over a month, with the announced date being June 17th. The album will be available for pre-order on iTunes beginning May 20th, and eager fans who pre-order will also receive “Avaritia” (a single off of his poignant 7 EP that was dropped in November) immediately.
With his last formal release having been back in 2012 with >Album Title Goes Here<, Joel Zimmerman [Deadmau5] has expressed on Twitter that this LP will be unlike his other releases, in that it will be a more cohesive, fluid album rather than an erratic conglomeration of tunes;
Deadmau5 has been up to some interesting things as of late; experimenting within various different styles of electronic music, preparing for a massive tour with a striking stage design, as well as taking other celebrities out in his Nyan-Cat adorned Ferrari (comically dubbed the “Purrari“) on one of his signature Coffee Runs. A renowned perfectionist, even Joel, himself, seems to be thrilled with the outcome, and is confident that it will have been worth the extensive wait. Being the esteemed musician, and knowledgeable sound-designer/engineer that he is, While (1<2) will undoubtedly be on repeat for legions of mau5 fans for an extensive period of time following its release.
