Quite arguably the most highly-anticipated release of the year, While(1<2), the forthcoming two-disc album from dance music icon, Deadmau5, is scheduled to drop tomorrow, and to pave its way in, the Canadian progressive-house virtuoso took to Twitter to deliver a live Q&A session earlier today. Whilst relaxing in Ibiza after having entered (and won!) the Gumball 3000 car rally with his bold, Nyan-cat adorned Ferrari, Joel Zimmerman [the man under the mau5head] took the time to shed some light on his upcoming tour plans, discuss several of the tracks on While(1<2), as well as respond to the expected handful of outlandish questions with witty and highly entertaining responses (in true Deadmau5 fashion).
Renowned for his elaborate, and cutting-edge live shows, Deadmau5 revealed that he has some very big plans for his next tour:
Joel also touched upon his experience competing in the Gumball 3000 rally:
He went on to share his own thoughts about his long-awaited LP, describing how he views it differently than his previous releases:
Extrapolating from talk of While(1<2), Joel expressed some of his future artistic ambitions, and quelled some fan’s worries over the fate of certain tracks that didn’t make it onto this two-disc release:
Finally, no Q&A is complete without a few fun facts slipping out:
After the Q&A session had ended, Deadmau5 thanked his Twitter audience for “enduring this scheduled promotional stunt”, and reminded them that they can always chat with him candidly on his private subscription-based site, live.deadmau5.com. Fortunately, the arduous wait for While(1<2) is drawing to its conclusion, with the album having already dropped, and reached #1 in Australia, and as the clever title suggests, fans will definitely have this LP on loop for the indefinite future.
