The anticipation for the Canadian progressive house virtuoso’s upcoming album, While(1<2), continues to build as Deadmau5 has dropped yet another teaser track entitled “Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer”. Having already revealed a poignant track named “Avaritia”, as well as a funky collaborative track with vocalist Colleen D’Agostino by the name of “Seeya”, Deadmau5 has clearly illustrated to his fans that this LP will exemplify his diversity and versatility as a producer, and as if they needed it, gives them more assurance that this release will definitely not disappoint.
In the spirit of the Gumball 3000 car race (which runs from Miami to New York and then to Ibiza) in which Deadmau5 will be participating with his Nyan-Cat adorned Ferrari (commonly known as the “Purrari”), the nearly-ten-minute-long “Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer” is a fast-paced, grooving house tune, with bright chord progressions and clever melodies voiced in rich, adeptly-engineered synths.
In his BBC Radio One interview with Zane Lowe, Deadmau5 also talked about his future tour plans, stating that his next tour will be “bigger than Bon Jovi.” He went on to discuss his aims for the tour:
“We’ve been working with some really top production companies that aren’t the top production companies in EDM; they’re the top production companies. They’re coming back to me and saying, ‘Dude, you have the biggest balls’. The point is to try and do something different, so I’m not gonna go charging hundreds of dollars a ticket to watch me stand in an LED thing…It’s gonna be a 360 kind of tour. I’m going all chips in, doing it like it’s my last tour. Even though it’s probably not. I’m not thinking about maximising profits by minimising production and maximising ticket prices. If I really wanted to make a ton of money and run around the world with a couple of USB keys with fly-in production, I can already see how bored I would be.”
