Gareth Emery has been a pillar in the trance community for some time now. He started out in the early 2000’s and has been at the forefront of the trance scene ever since. From 2003-2008 Gareth co-owned the label, Five AM. However, in 2008 he would part ways and “Garuda” was born. Then in 2014, Electric For Life would replace his longtime podcast “Gareth Emery Podcast”. More than just a podcast, Electric For Life would become a live show and charitable foundation that supports vulnerable groups in society.
Recently, EFL hosted its own stage at Stereosonic Sydney that attracted performances from artists like Andrew Rayel, Emma Hewitt, Marlo, and of course, Gareth Emery. He’s released four albums to date, one that just dropped two months ago. Emery’s fourth album, “100 Reasons To Live” is more than just an ordinary album in Gareth’s eyes. With a heart felt post to Instagram and Facebook, he cited the ‘reasons’ for the album name. Discussing his unhappiness the past couple years and how it mainly revolved around frivolous reasons, Gareth appears never happier to release this album. Here’s what he had to say about it (shortened down).
In short, I rediscovered what made me happy, or in other words, figured out my ‘Reasons To Live’, and then stuck ‘100’ in the front for no other reason than it sounded better.
Although no set times have been announced for Digital Dreams Festival, what can we expect to hear from Gareth Emery? Obviously, we will be hearing all of his hit tracks that are coming off of his “100 Reasons To Live” album. The album is packed full of up beat trance killers that Gareth delivers with every release. A collaboration with friend Christina Novelli, “Save Me” is an upbeat electro trance classic that Gareth is known for. Another stand out from his album is “Reckless” Ft Wayward Daughter. The soothing vocals and lush chords put this track ahead of most on the album is our personal favorite at RaverRafting. More than that, we can expect to hear Gareth’s legendary tracks like “U” Ft Bo Bruce and “Concrete Angel” featuring Christina Novelli.
Check out some of Gareth’s best tracks below and consider catching him at Digital Dreams Festival. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here for $149.99 before fees. You can also check out Digital Dreams’ full lineup here.
