In the spirit of bringing undiscovered talents to the forefront, Euphoria Music and Camping Festival hosted the Unearth Contests, two competitions that awarded six deserving artists with prize packages of epic proportions.
The contest was split into two parts, one aimed at prospective DJs, the other at producers. Nearly 300 applicants around the world vied for the coveted first place prize of a set at Euphoria Music Festival by submitting a track to be voted on by Spotlight.fm site visitors. The contestants with the highest number of votes were then narrowed down by a panel of judges, including experts from Spotlight.fm, Audiophile Live Records, and Euphoria local headliners. After much careful deliberation, the winners were announced.
In choosing the Unearth DJ contest winners, judges considered composition, mixing, song selection and professional appearance. First place winner was Bianca Linta, whose “big room” mix “The World Needs a Girl” earned her a set at Euphoria’s Main Stage. Sawed Off and Matsu came in second and third place, respectively, with dance-inducing mixes ideal for the festival scene.
Winners for the Producer Unearth DJ Contest were judged on composition, mixdown, mastering and professional appearance. Sonic Geometry took first place with electro-soul track “Rollin’,” earning him the option of a Euphoria set and an EP/track release on Audiophile Live Records. Coming in at second place was Vice Club with moombahton track “The Supreme,” and lastly, Kinetik Groove took third place with future funk track “Victory Dance.”
The Unearth Contests are yet another way in which Euphoria encourages fan interaction and participation as part of the festival experience. Make sure to leave your special handprint on the festival by checking out interactive art galleries, yoga workshops and more to be hosted on festival grounds.
