If you follow the trap scene at all then you know all too well about HDYNation. While attending shows, you may have seen an unusual symbol of an exclamation point inside of a triangle. You may have seen crowds walking around displaying a familiar delta symbol with their hands. People may even ask you to put your hood up. Display your warning signs and join the HDYNation.
This is all a budding magical trap family known as HDYNation. All HDYBys and HDYGrlz are welcome. You are immediately accepted into the cult-following of traptastic duo Flosstradamus. Once you go HDY, you never go back. Luckily for us, Flosstradamus will be performing at Houston’s Halloween festival, Something Wicked. WhiteRaverRafting has an exclusive opportunity to see this duo in action with a chance to win VIP tickets. Before you head to the fest, read on and familiarized yourself with the boys who put trap on the map.
Flosstradamus is a Chicago-based EDM duo that know their way around the block. Performing full time since 2006, Flosstradamus has played everywhere from Hard Summer, Lollapalooza, and TomorrowWorld to name a very few. Flosstradamus is known for their work with Mad Decent and Fool’s Gold Records. Over the past few years, major artists have recognized them through collaborations and tour partnerships. Not only have they graced the festival scene many times, they have also toured with Skrillex and Chromeo.
Where’d they get their name, you may be asking yourself. Flosstradamus helped mold the EDM scene from hard bass paired with even harder drugs to groovy mashups paired with all natural substances. Flosstradamus has been able to capitalize on their music considering that we live in a time that is accepting weed culture as the norm. Their ability to create music that is multi-faceted has created a world renowned fanbase. The duo has such a diversified sound, it isn’t hard to attract fans that may have different musical tastes.
Flosstradamus’ style ranges from hip-hop heavy to trap-nasty to rave-tastic. They are very versatile in their sounds and can smoothly transition from style to style. Some of Floss’s most famous songs include a Major Lazer remix of “Original Don.” They also have coined the very recognizable sample, “where’d ya find this?” Everyone has heard of that sample and many DJs are using it lately. One of their most recognizable songs right now is ‘Pillz’, which has also been remixed by many other DJs. You may think you haven’t heard of Flosstradamus, but chances are you have discovered them in one way or another. You will see yourself bobbing to the beat of their addicting songs.
Flosstradamus can work the crowd, but they are great producers that work with popular artists as well. Flosstradamus helped produce Iggy Azalea’s “Flexin’ and Finessin'” in 2012. About a year ago, they worked with DJ Sliink to produce a trappy release entitled “Nomads.” They are great producers and even better performers.
Flosstradamus has a huge following because of how down to earth these two are. They understand their roots and understand that without their fans, they wouldn’t be where they are now. They have a great sense of humor on their social media sites such as Facebook. They stock their pages with EDM related memes and relatable weed references. They are enjoyable to follow and easy to like. Floss’s fans have taken to their hype by creating a world-wide movement and calling themselves HDYNation.
Flosstradamus is heading to Houston for Something Wicked in Houston. They will be stopping by on October 25th & 26th, with more details to come on specific set times. This is a show that will go down in Something Wicked history, so you will not want to miss this.
