You heard it here first: fanny packs are making a comeback. At the forefront of the fanny pack game is Jaunt, a design company based in Manhattan that focuses on fashionable and functional fanny packs. But this isn’t your mom pushing a stroller at Disney World piece of hip-equipment, owner Michael Gruner has committed the last year to designing and engineering the perfect fanny pac (See video below of Michael telling the Jaunt story). About the design Michael says,
“Contrary to the traditional big and bulky fanny pack, our packs are slim, sleek, and meticulously designed with purposed pockets for only the bare essentials needed on your adventures. The goal of the design was a pack that looks great but one that is small enough that your mind is focused on your adventures and not what you’re carrying. I strived to use not one inch of wasted fabric with the design.”
This summer was a huge success for Jaunt, as Michael took his product on the road to festivals like Mysteryland, Counterpoint, Moonrise, Firefly, Wanderlust, and Pemberton. He is big on minimalism so each line that he comes out with will only have three styles. Each line has a theme and each style has their own story. His second line was released earlier this summer and his third was released this week.
