Gary Richards, the founder and CEO of HARD Events and creator of HOLY SHIP, confirmed that OWSLA label owner Skrillex and his pal Flume have indeed finished a two-track collaboration.
“A ton of collaborations have resulted from the close quarters and chill vibe [of Holy Ship],” Richards told New Times Miami. “Skrillex is what they call an ‘OG.’ He hasn’t missed a year and has since worked with fellow shipmate Boys Noize, as well as just wrapped up a two-track collab with Flume.”
The team up was first hinted at back in December when Skrillex announced he would be attending Shore Thing and BeachLife in Australia, Flume’s home country. What So Not, Flume’s side project with Emoh Instead, has already released tracks under OWSLA and it would make sense for the EP to release on the label as well.
Walshy Fire of Major Lazer recently told InTheMix that the group was teaming up with Flume after they spent time together at 2014 Big Day Out.
“Yeah man, believe it or not we’re actually leaving Flume’s house right now, we had a nice time there. We just went over to his apartment for a BBQ. He’s an amazing producer, great guy, so, for sure.”
There are no previews online for the either of the collabs, but Skrillex’s been posting some…interesting…Instagram videos lately. We’re thinking the EP with him and Flume will have Flume’s smooth melodies and Skrill’s rougher beats. As far as the Major Lazer & Flume collab goes, that’s gonna be some high energy shit. No matter the outcome, we’re stoked to hear both of the collabs.

Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to make a great article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a
lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.
