Coolio – Gangsta’s Paradise [Candyland OG Remix]

Taking all of you back in time real quick with this trap remix of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise. Had no clue who Candyland was before today however, I will be paying close attention in the future. The Santa Barbara duo broke onto the scene with their first “OG Remix” of Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’.

Back with the second installment, this rework maintains the original feel but draws on production for a transformation of sound. Initially you might find yourself subconsciously spitting the timeless intro “as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,” before you realize the track is going in a different direction…bouncy gangsta beats and a proper “bass” vocal repetition. Us 90’s kids should eat this up – definitely takes me back.
