Electric Zoo came to a close this past Sunday, and by the time it came to a close, the Riverside stage would host some of the most popular trance acts out there. We’d see performances from Anjunabeats favorites like Andrew Bayer, Ilan Bluestone, and Jason Ross. Gareth Emery would go on to close out Riverside stage and then head on over to Marquee following the end of Electric Zoo.
Lines outside Marquee would stretch far out and entry took around an hour. Upon entering the club, it became very noticeable that it would likely be packed to the max for the whole night. Whether it was Gareth’s lush music or the last day of Ezoo, Marquee was as packed as a can of sardines. Trance artist Adam Scott would take the decks before Gareth came on right around 1:30.
As fans pushed closer to the stage, Gareth opened with his unique, uplifting trance sound. Progressive, yet containing all the upbeat elements of trance that fans have come to love. Not long into his set, Gareth would drop his classic “Concrete Angel” that echoed around the venue as fans sang along. Clapping hands and smiles were met by the upbeat melody that erupted around the club. He would go on to drop other favorites like “Dynamite” ft. Christina Novelli and “Soldier”, who’s vocals are sang by his sister and current manager, Roxanne Emery.
Upon making our way closer to the stage, Gareth’s passion and love for the music could visibly be seen on his face; often closing his eyes and smiling ear to ear as lush chords and synths rang out around him. Gareth would go on to play for well over 2 hours and dropped hard trance in addition to his progressive sound.
