Producer Mike Gwin, Mutomb0, out of Philadelphia brings us “Kalimba Limba”, a smooth and relaxing downtempo tune which revives the wobbling sub bass textures of early dubstep. We’re not knowledgeable about the name of the song (or near-Eastern dialects), but it’s almost onomatopoetic, as the undulating development sounds like the name itself
“Kalimba Limba” is the first single from Mutomb0’s upcoming EP, Macrosmatic Jentacular. Solid drums and a background of rising and falling ambience give this track a unique atmosphere. The sub bass melody begs you to get low for this one; in other words you can limbo to the Limba.
Judging by the name alone, you can be sure the rest of Mutomb0’s EP has the same peculiar and spacey vibe as “Kalimba Limba.” Funkadelphia Recordings’ has been producing fantastic music from a wide range of artists. Mutomb0’s bass-heavy downtempo is another example of FR’s diversity, so peep the single, do the Limba and check out the full EP when it drops in a few days!
