A few months ago, we got the official trailer for We Are Your Friends, a movie starring Zac Efron as Cole Carter, an aspiring DJ/producer in Los Angeles who is struggling to make ends meet before meeting a DJ who takes Efron under his wing and guides him on the way to becoming a superstar in the electronic music scene.
While the concept of this movie was met with mixed reviews, there’s no denying that We Are Your Friends tells the stories of thousands of aspiring producers around the world, though only a few of them, like Gryffin, truly have the opportunity to become superstars.
Hailing from New York City, Gryffin emerged onto the scene last year and stunned the entire music industry with his trademark style of cloud house. He put out stellar remix after stellar remix, garnering over 50 million plays across his remixes for the likes of Maroon 5, BANKS, and Tove Lo, amongst others.
His music is perfect for the summertime, as he blends smooth melodies and subtle basslines with uplifting vocals, and his latest remix of Years & Years’ “Desire” is Gryffin music at its finest. Guitar riffs intricately weave around Olly Alexander’s vocals, while glittering synth chords and piano harmonies come together to put a smile on your face.
