I’m late on this. No excuse really as the electro trio has teased us with previews and social media promo lately, leading to a highly anticipated release. Savoy (suh-voy) has come a long way since I first stumbled across them headlining GlowFest CU Boulder a few years back. Since then they have experienced a recognizable growth in following, headlined DayGlow in Charleston, and most importantly – Gray, Ben, and Mike are creating both visual and audio spectacles; forging dominate live performances with mastered electro production eliciting all that encompasses the musical inclination which we as fans and critics seek.
This ‘We Are The Sun’ remix begins with a focus on the Heather Bright vocals, almost lulling you into a vibrant but mellow wake. The bass begins to drip unexpectedly around 1:05 and spares no still moments from that point on. This remix is the perfect testament to Savoy’s development as musicians overall. The trio maintains a perfect balance of components from opposite ends of the spectrum pairing serene, inspirational vocals with heavy lose yourself bass. It’s official, Savoy has arrived.
