Porter Robinson was not holding any emotion back lyrically. The music video depicting the relationship between a girl and some large, monster-like creature is heart-wrenching as well! “Apollo” sky-rocketed Hardwell to the top of charts this past summer. This comes as no surprise since the song became the perfect reminder of how lucky music lovers are to dance under electric lights with their loved ones. Jose Espinoza did a phenomenal job directing the music video and really pulling at fans heart strings even more.

The lyrics of this song have become so popular, they’ve become a popular tattoo. Sometimes need that ‘daily’ reminder.
Deadmau5 feat. Chris James – “The Veldt”
Anyone remember reading “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury in school? This short story describes the haunting relationship between two twins and their futuristic nursery. Deadmau5 is a master of epic progression chords and Chris James drops lyrical references all throughout the track. It really brings the story to life. After listening to the track, it hopefully inspires you to disconnect and reconnect with things besides your phone and computer.

I may be reading into this song a little much but when you listen to the lyrics closely….I hear the sound of a revolution. This track was ‘rule number one’ on Dada Life’s Rules of Dada album and which is why it ties into their crazy, outrageous shows perfectly. It can also apply to real life cultural dilemmas. Think for yourself first. Or at least don’t care what others think.
Project 46 feat. Andrew Allen – “Reasons”
“Look at the sky, the sun won’t ask the world if it can rise. Look at your mind and ask yourself what keeps you trapped inside?” Let that sink in for a second. This track reached number 1 on Beatport and really put Project 46 on the map. Everyone loves a good self-empowering song.
Zedd feat. Liz – “Hourglass”
Sometimes we crave changes in our life. Whether it’s a haircut or something more major, “Hourglass” truly expresses the drive we may feel deep inside to become something new. This track is very uplifting and hopefully inspires listeners to spark positive change in their lives.

Alesso has come a long way in his musical career and it’s detailed so beautifully in “Years.” This is the type of song you wanna blast at your graduation party or during move-in day at college to celebrate your accomplishments. While the original song by Fever Ray holds its own nostalgic elements, Lorin creates a truly atmospheric experience with this remix. It triggers you to think about your future but the trance-like progression creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere. It keeps things very zen and positive.

Insomniac’s advertising team did an awesome job by picking Madeon’s “The City” for the Electric Forest 2014: The Journey Begins. This song inspires you to dream of faraway places to call your own. Go outside and discover some of the world’s hidden treasures.

Swedish House Mafia BRILLIANTLY tugged at electronic music lovers heartstrings with this song and reminiscent music video.
