Isle of Skye Releases “Afterglow” Upcoming EP ‘Tide’

Carl von Hoesslin and Robert Jameson are the duo that make up Isle of Skye, a genre-bending group that brings us blended tracks that range from progressive house, melodic drum and bass, and electronic. Starting back in 2013 in their hometown of Johannesburg, they have been playing around with these sounds and are consistently guests on 5FM, one of the most popular radio stations in South Africa. They have slowly been dropping singles for their new EP, ‘Tide’, which will hopefully be completed sometime this Spring.

While we are waiting for the rest to be released, one of our favorite tracks is “Afterglow”. The track has a laid back electro jazz vibe, with the gentle guitar riffs starting it off and building up to an uplifting drop. Those two words are opposite of each other, but somehow these two have accomplished it. They then combine jazz guitar melodies and a tranquil progressive house beat, leaving us with a beautiful fusion that’ll have you clicking replay. Their other tracks take after this playfulness, yet each has a definitive sound from the other. This duo is definitely one to watch out for and we highly suggest checking out the rest of their discography available on SoundCloud and Spotify.
