Kyle Watson Kicks Off ‘My Machines’ Tour in Tempe, Arizona [Event Review]

Following some major festival appearances this summer including So Track Boa, CRSSD, and Lighting In A Bottle, Kyle Watson has just embarked on his highly-anticipated ‘My Machines’ tour. Last weekend, the South African DJ and producer kicked off the tour and debuted his brand-new concept at Sunbar in Tempe, Arizona with direct support from Kyle Kinch and DOMii. 

The idea behind ‘My Machines’ was to showcase Kyle Watson’s extensive work of over fifteen years for a never-before-seen performance. The forward-thinking artist dug deep into his catalog and delivered a specially curated, all-original DJ set where old meets new, incorporating originals, personal edits, and stacks of unreleased VIP mixes.

After incredible sets from opening acts, DOMii and Kyle Kinch, the wheels of ‘My Machines’ began turning and Kyle Watson took the stage. The talented producer cranked up the sound and sent us off on a “Magic Carpet” ride through his discography, playing our personal favorite, “Late Night Phone Call,” his latest original, “Let’s Go Dancing” with Mindchatter, and the insane “Gas Pedal” remix that we hope gets released soon.

Kyle Watson kept the crowd grooving and singing to the stunning vocals of “I Got You” with Apple Gule and “You Boy” with Kylah Jasmine while lights danced on the screen and onto the dance floor. The ‘My Machines’ show was a 10/10 experience. It was a well oiled machine of basslines and addictive drops accompanied by visuals that welded together the concept.
