Las Vegas has always been one of the Mecca’s of America’s EDM scene and now Cirque du Soleil is bringing their theatrics to the dance floor at Mandalay Bay’s nightclub LIGHT for their opening weekend. On Friday, April 26th, DJ in residence Nicky Romero will be on the tables along with Clockwork and Andy Caldwell. The following day, Axwell will spin to his very first Las Vegas residency while being accompanied by Hook N Sling.
The talent doesn’t stop there, LIGHT has received confirmations of partnerships with world-class DJs such as Skrillex, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Baauer, Nicky Romero, Thomas Gold, A-Trak, Mat Zo and Otto Knows as well as Alvin Risk, Andy Caldwell, Bassjackers, Carl Kennedy, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hook N Sling, Sebastien Drums, Stafford Brothers and Steve Powers. Also on the residency list is Krewella, who begins their shows starting on May 1st, with eight performances set in stone for 2013.
Upon arriving to the 38,000 square foot venue which is literally designed to play with your senses, visitors will be exposed to “state-of-the-art production [and] theatrics” which include “avant-garde costumes and unique choreography imagined by Cirque Du Soleil”. The idea of Cirque Du Soliel dressing and designing productions to the tune of some of the best electronic music in the world is nothing to scoff at.
In utilization of one of the social media juggernaut Twitter, The Light Group, who organize and put on these shows are featuring an awesome giveaway prorgam. Upon following LIGHT on twitter, buying tickets, and hash-tagging #TicketTuesday. Each week contests will be announced where guests can win a meet and greet with one of the DJs, a complimentary bottle or dinner at one of The Light Group’s signature restaurants at Mandalay Bay and other amazing prizes.
