Great news for Lockn’ patrons who plan on camping at the festival this September 4-7, 2014, in Arrington, Virginia. The management company for the festival will be acquiring the 385 acre land that is Oak Ridge Farm where Lockn’ now calls home, meaning closer campsites to the venue for all! The farthest campsite planned for this year’s fest will now be a mile and half closer to the venue than in 2013. The fields and woods surrounding the venue will now be utilized for camping, helping to alleviate congestion off the main Oak Ridge Road. The proactive measures being taken to fine tune any issues from last year’s inaugural festival have us all the more excited to get back on the farm in 2014. Peter Shapiro, Managing Partner of Lockn’ LLC, weighed in on the purchase.
We intend to be responsible stewards of the land. We have hired an environmental land management architect to author a long-term master plan that contemplates the property remaining a farm, using some of the fields for festival camping and traffic, and preserving the ecological integrity, natural habitats, and ecosystems of one of Nelson County’s most beautiful farms whose history actually predates the existence of the United States.
Several camping options are available to best accommodate the needs of any type of festival goer. Visit the camping information page on the official Lockn’ website for further details on which spot will be best for your crew.
