MartyParty has always started a party in my headphones. I have always been a Marty fan since I first started listening to electronic music. Check out this throw-back track, it’s actually the first track I ever clicked favorite on sound cloud.
It’s hard to pin point exactly which piece of his production style I enjoy the most – is it those stabby, hard, fierce sounding synths? Is it his melodic & mellow intros, outros and breakdowns? Or the way he sprinkles perfectly calculated hip-hop samples over his glitched out, ground shattering kick drums? I absolutely love it all & I can’t get enough of Marty’s hard-style, bass-infused, hip-hop inspired glitch/dubstep tunes.
MartyParty – Trill Some Crunk
MartyParty-Trill Sum Crunk by MartyParty
On 10/5 MartyParty dropped his newest release appropriately titled: Sub ON – not necessarily all new material, but Marty writes in his email to his fan base: “Sub ON is a collection of club bangers I wrote for the tour – they are fun and energetic dubstep tunes and really flex the low end 😉
All 5 tracks on the release were hits on my tour and all you DJ’s are gonna love playing these out.” (what he says FLEX the low end he means it!)
Track listing:
Ice Cream Truck – Pacman – Bully – Lose This and of course the crazy V8!
Please don’t do yourself the disservice of listening to these flexed out tunes on some crappy laptop speakers – only push play if your 12″ subwoofers are on, or your Dre beats are turned way up! Pay particular attention to the stereo width behind Marty’s bass lines. It felt like Marty wrapped me up in a blanket of bass, when I first pushed play on Ice Cream truck – absolutely full-flexed surrounding bass synths punching through so hard & with that little ice cream truck jingle breaking up the bass madness. Marty’s bass lines are signature here – they step outside the normal boundaries of dubstep which uses a “wow” or “wowie” sounding wobble instead he was able to create this really catchy, memorable bass sound making more of a “yeah-yuh” “yooh-ehh” sound. Once you give it a listen you’ll understand what Im getting at – it’ll get stuck in your head, for sure. I’m really glad MartyParty dropped this release, he puts a new spin/flare on what I consider the “future sounds of bass” – perfect for wobble-hungry, bass-loving, glitch heads and dubstep DJs. Play these out and your sure to have a MartyParty all over the dance floor!
