Mysteryland is set to take over Bethel Woods, NY from June 10-13 this summer, as festival-goers will have the honor of camping on the sacred grounds where Woodstock ’69 took place. Art Department was just recently announced and it seems phase two will begin to slowly trickle in all week. However, one of the artistists we’re most excited for is Denver based producer, Illenium. His real name is Nick Miller, however he’s been going by his stage name, Illenium, for about four years now. Miller was just a fan in the crowd until he saw Bassnectar at Red Rocks in 2012. Since then, he’s been perfecting his melodic craft and rapidly rising through the scene. He performed in Colorado on NYE, at Decadence, and is scheduled for a performance at Global Dance Festival as well as Mysteryland. Miller has remixed songs by Kaskade, Odesza, and Dada Life among many others.
Illenium recently premiered his remix of The Chainsmoker’s, “Don’t Let Me Down”. The Colorado native brings the riveting song to a new level with his talented and diverse production skills. The track has been out for three weeks and has already acquired nearly 4 million plays on Soundcloud, he fuses together his notorious bass with heavy hitting drums that will leave you awe struck. This remix as well as 2016 are shaping up to be one of Illenium’s finest.
Illenium has been turning heads all over the dance industry with his impressive singles and remarkable remixes. A month ago he debuted his first album, Ashes. The 10 track album is loaded with melodic bass beauties that Illenium is known for. Each track will start you on an emotional ride and drop you off in a soothing but powerful melodic bass paradise. Illenium matches uplifting vocals with passionate drops to create masterpieces…here’s what Miller had to say to Billboard about the full album.
It’s a story of rebirth. About losing something and being down, and being able to find hope and light in tough places.
He’s fresh off being remixed by none other than melodic dubstep producer, Seven Lions. However, Lions puts a less melodic, but still beautiful trance touch on one of Illenium’s most popular songs, “Fortress”. It also seems Illenium has taken some pointers from the highly skilled dubstep producer. One can only hope that someday we’ll see a collaboration between the two accomplished artists.
I love vocals. Seven Lions once said it’s the one instrument I can’t manipulate or do anything with. It adds an element that everyone can relate to.
Illenium has been taking the scene by storm and it looks like he won’t be slowing down anytime soon. He will be touring all around the US before shredding the decks at Mysteryland in June. Keep your eyes open to see if he’s touring near you, however his Mysteryland performance is certainly one you won’t want to miss. You can check out Mysteryland’s phase one lineup below.
