Continuing his exploration between the realm of man and machine, Nectauss is back with another single: “Cae Ibormeith: Tin Phone Line.” In Irish mythology, Caer Ibormeith was the daughter of Prince Ethal Anbuail of Sid Uamuin in Connacht. In Óengus’s dreams, Caer Ibormeith would stand beside his bed. When he reached out for her, she would disappear and turn into a swan. While out searching for her, Óengus was given a test. He could marry Caer if he could identify her as a swan. He chose correctly, and the pair flew off to eternal happiness in swan form.
The track ominously and continuously fades in and out, introducing listeners to the mystery of Caer Ibormeith. Cinematic elements are gradually sprinkled in to establish a dynamic musical atmosphere. Throughout the track, the music alternates between powerful and more silent, leaving the listener wanting more. As it comes to a conclusion, those are left to wonder what is to come next in the string of singles for the cultural producer.
