Last night, NGHTMRE touched down in NYC for his long awaited performance at Webster Hall. Accompanied by Callie Reiff and Andrew Luce, this night will surely go down in the Webster Hall history book. Arriving just in time for Luce, the night was started out with with some heavy bass that would energize the crowd up until NGHTMRE’s performance. Luce delivered many of his own singles, and also dropped his popular remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite”.
NGHTMRE would take the decks at 1:30 to a very packed Webster Hall, and from the get go his energy could be felt throughout the club. Equally as excited as the fans for his performance, NGHTMRE was bouncing and dancing for the whole 90 minutes of his set. By the time his set had finished, NGHTMRE was so sweaty that he looked like he had just ran a marathon. Delivering a mix of classics and unreleased trap anthems, NGHTMRE had the crowd in full rage mode for the majority of his set. Throwing down mainly a trap set with some bass here and there, he stayed away from heaven trap until the end of his set. Although it’s nearly impossible to compare the two performances, NGHTMRE was certainly more trap heavy than Slander’s performance in the weeks prior.
Mashing in some throwbacks like Blink 182’s “All The Small Things” and Skrillex’s “Promises”, NGHTMRE had the crowd reminiscing on some classics throughout his set. The dropping of his new collaboration with Flux Pavillion, however, definitely takes the cake for the night. A mix of Flux’s dub roots fused with NGHTMRE’s trap production skills to create an instant banger. However, when GTA’s “Saria’s Turn Up” came on, pure anarchy erupted throughout Webster Hall. Two weeks, two awesome shows. Slander and NGHTMRE have also hinted at an announcement coming soon, possibly a joint tour? We’ll have to wait to find out.
