Despite just recently emerging from his teenage years, Oliver Heldens is a man who is skilled beyond his years. As a teenager, The Dutch phenom championed the rise of future house with tracks like “Gecko (Overdrive)” and “Last All Night (Koala),” and has since gone on to host his own radio show, Heldeep Radio, and play internationally acclaimed music festivals like TomorrowWorld, EDC Las Vegas, and Ultra. It seems like Helden has nearly done it all before he’s even hit adulthood, but today, Heldens has announced the start of his very own record label, Heldeep Records, and has unveiled himself as the mystery bass house producer behind “Crank It Up,” HI-LO.
To celebrate the announcement of Heldeep Records, Heldens will be releasing a reboot of “Renegate Mastah” under his HI-LO alias as the inaugural release on his own record label. Borrowing the familiar vocal sample from Wildchild’s “Renegate Master,” Heldens crafts a dark, industrial house backbone supported by tech house grooves and pools of swirling bass giving his newest single a high-energy personality that will dominate this festival season. HI-LO’s “Renegade Mastah” will be released on July 20th via Heldeep Records.
