On Tuesdays We Techno, Volume 26: Alex Stein, Pan-Pot, Layton Giordani and More

This week, we’ve got handfuls of heavy and heart-racing beats, some new and and some many of you will be familiar with. There’s no rhyme or reason to this curated roundup, it’s just bits and pieces of what we’ve been feeling the past few weeks. On the lineup, you can expect to hear both singles and EPs coming out from Tronic Music, Nonplus Records, Second State, and Drumcode.

First up is our recent favorite of the bunch, the Hostage EP from Alex Stein on Tronic Music. This Brazilian producer brings 3 brilliant and infectious tracks we’ve had on repeat since the EP’s release. Next comes something special— Ellen Allien’s forthcoming first solo released EP, outside of her BPitch Control imprint, in over two decades. Take a Stand is a three-part culmination of her experience in the industry since first playing at the infamous Fischlabor in the early 90s, and my goodness, even the snippets are a treat.

Following this Nonplus Records release comes the surprising new EP from Pan-Pot, Weltlinie, on Second State. The shock factor doesn’t come from how incredible this 5-track mind-melter is, but purely from its existence; Pan-Pot just released their Funke EP a few months ago. Considering how busy this duo is, it was certainly a pleasant surprise to be gifted additional new music this year.

Finally, we round things out with two hits you’ll be more than familiar with. Both of these bangers come from the almighty Drumcode, and we promise that you’ll be hearing these in festival and show sets for many months to come. Space Date is a two-tracker that opens with the otherworldly title-track collaboration between Adam Beyer, Green Velvet, and Layton Giordani, complimented by “Rome Future,” the product of a year-long series of productions between Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani that’s been a fan favorite during their sets in 2018. We then end this week with a track that needs no introduction, the Drumcode king and Bart Skils’ recent dance floor assassin, “Your Mind.”
