Once in a while, there are artists that you hear, that have this ability to manipulate your emotions with their music. PLS&TY embodies this idea of an artist, with his raw talent showcased in every production. RaverRafting was offered an interview with the up and coming artist and we jumped at the opportunity. Read about his goals, inspirations, and what we can look forward to from the King of Manners.
RR – What is the dream stage/festival you aim to play one day?
PLS&TY – Ultra Music Festival in Miami has always been at the top of my list of festivals that I am tremendously eager to perform at. Growing up in Palm Beach, about an hour and a half drive north of Miami, I greatly cherish Ultra Music Festival as it is the first dance festival I attended. I’d love to be able to perform at such a prestigious festival so close to home.
RR – Future Bass is no doubt your genre. If you were to dabble in another sub-genre of the EDM world where would you go?
PLSY&TY – I’ve jokingly stated on Twitter in the past that in another life I would move to the U.K. and become a drum and bass producer. I am a huge fan of drum and bass & the accompanying scenes that are present in many parts of the world outside of the U.S. Nonetheless, for now, my productions will indubitably remain signature to that which you know of PLS&TY.
RR – Where do you find yourself most inspired?
PLS&TY – Traveling never fails to inspire me. Seeing new places, meeting new people, trying new things… it’s newness that sanctions growth and inspiration for me in every aspect of life.
RR – The Promiscuous Remix is definitely my favorite of your productions. Can your fans look forward to any more throwback remixes?
PLS&TY – With Soundcloud’s copyright policies becoming increasingly stringent, unfortunately, my ability to remix has been notably limited. My ‘throwback’ remixes also will forever be some of my favorite productions, and hopefully, soon I’ll be able to work on official remixes of these ‘throwback’ songs that we all grew up listening to. There is indeed a possibility of more ‘throwback’ remixes under the right circumstances with proper permission from rights-holders and labels!
RR – You recently announced you are playing weekend two of Electric Forest. What went through your mind when you found out about this opportunity?
PLS&TY – Yes, I am incredibly excited to be performing at Electric Forest! Performing at larger festivals with so many other talented individuals is especially exhilarating and inspiring.
RR – Has there ever been a piece of advice someone has shared with you that still rings true or helps you out?
PLS&TY – The most important piece of advice that I have received involves believing in oneself. Believe in yourself. Believe in what makes you unique. I promise others will too.
You can catch PLS&TY in the upcoming months at Electric Forest and Moonrise Festival. Check out his latest single Run Wild on Soundcloud we promise you will not be disappointed.
