Alexandre Paounov, better known as the Parisian visionary POPOF, has just released a new album for the summer-fall transition on Hot Creations’ label! POPOF is a major player in the Paris underground scene, once being part of the collective, Heretik System, in the raving 90’s and subsequently remixing the likes of legends Depeche Mode and The Chemical Brothers. In 2009, the Ibizia DJ Awards christened him the ‘Best Newcomer’ artist; serving as a true testament to his prime producing skills.
Love Somebody is a fabulous album constructed from posh beats, luscious, liquid-like melodies, and a never-ending supply of upbeat dance numbers. It’s the perfect synergy between deep house, house, and techno. “Words Gone” featuring Arno Joey oozes indie electro vibes accompanied by airy vocals and chic synths, while “Pack & Rollin'” is the perfect trippy techno throwback to the 90’s. Additionally, the infamous Miss Kittin is featured on a track called “Always In My Mind,” which is a fun, flirty groove tune.
