When electro-house rising star Porter Robinson first announced his four stop Circle Assembly tour there was no doubt in my mind that it would sell out fast. A few weeks later, what do you know? The only tickets remaining are for the February 8th show in Toronto, and those are rapidly running out.
2013 was a massive year for the North Carolina native, and according to an interview he did with MTV, 2013 will be a “stylistic upgrade for him and his fans“. Having been behind one of the biggest tunes of the year, ‘Language’, Robinson has definitely lived up to the pressure of being one of electronic dance music’s rising stars. The Circle Assembly tour will be a fresh break for the 20-year-old, he can gather his thoughts and find that last bit of inspiration needed to bang out the rest of his highly anticipated album.
On February 9th P.R. will be back in New York City to throw down at the Roseland Ballroom. The last time he took the Roseland stage was on Zedd’s birthday (Sept 2nd) for an Electric Zoo afterparty, the pair played back-to-back along side DJ Mag’s #6 DJ, Hardwell. Personally the Roseland Ballroom is one of my favorite venues, they have a high quality sound system, endless production possibility, and they never over sell their venue – over selling venues has become a huge problem within the scene. I couldn’t have picked a better venue to house such a legendary event. It’s only a week away but since I know you can’t wait, use Porter’s ‘Triple J Mix’ to hold you over.
