Maybe you’re having a bad week. We all have them. I wish you all the best, and with that, I share with you our selection of this week’s Powerful Picks to help you power through it all! From original releases to brilliant remixes, we’ve got tracks from many genres – dubstep, future house, electro, progressive – and tracks that are pushing boundaries, blending genres into something new and without boundaries. Afterall, as some of our Dutch DJ friends tell us on this list, “The Only Way Is Up.”
Alina Baraz & Galimantias – Fantasy (Pomo Remix)
Pomo keeps it funky with his remix of Alina Baraz and Galimantias. Can’t say I’m familiar with original artists but I can say that this tune is a soft, sweet, chill, soulful, downtempo electronic jam.
Mord Fustang Ft Liinks – Pop (ST4RBUCK Remix)
Coming in strong with hard dubstep, ST4RBUCK drops it hard with his “Pop” remix. Ironically, ST4RBuck leaves barely any pop in the track and instead laces it with tons of elements that make heavy tracks even heavier.
Linkin Park – Crawling (William Black Remix)
Linkin Park means one things, raw intensity. Which makes it a great surprise William Black was able to capture a nice, highly melodic electro-house theme using Link Park’s “Crawling,” definitely worth the listen.

Tecknik – The Future
Tossing his tune in the Music Discovery EDC Las Vegas DJ Competition, Tecknik presents “The Future.” A future house tune that is on point at all the right moments. If you’re into chill sounds you’ll love this track. A “like” on his SoundCloud track or Mixcloud mix is a vote for Tecknik in the competition, support if you like!
Whitney Houston – Dance With Somebody (INSTRUM Remix)
New to the Powerful Picks list, INSTRUM hits us with some solid future house, feature great rhythms that hit at all of the right times. The track also proves Whitney Houston’s voice melds shockingly well with chill house genres, definitely a plus!

Outkast – Roses (PLS&TY Remix)
PLS&TY releases a remix that feels amazing from the very first seconds. Tossing in serious keyboard melodies and catchy rhythms within the legendary “Roses” original, the PLS&TY remix features many new elements found in 2015 music all in one track.

Oh Wonder – Midnight Moon (Melvv Remix)
Melvv’s takes the vibe down a notch, but still delivers an amazing electronic production great for any time or event. The electronic injected into this remix brilliantly and harmoniously matches the sounds and emotion of the original.
Martin Garrix & Tiesto – The Only Way Is Up (Boehm Remix)
Tiesto and Martin’s new song is pretty awesome in its own right, and I highly suggest checking it out! But Boehm gives it a tech house remix, that I think I prefer, though the original’s melody and highlights totally still shine through.
Zeds Dead – Bustamove (Sleepy Tom Remix)
This member of the “Fool’s Gold Family” remixes Zeds Dead’s “Bustamove” into a bouncy track with a new, fun bassline. Featured on a Pete Tong mix, fans have been waiting for this one to come out, and as one fan writers: “Everything (he) touches becomes better than it was before…” pretty much describes Sleepy Tom’s attack on this one, too.
Datsik – Troynado (Original)
Datsik’s real name is Troy, and this song is full of everything we have come to cherish about him. Full of wobble and dub and even guitar, Datisk “gets medieval,” which I can only describe as something vaguely reminiscent of reminding you of “Game of Thrones” with bass in your face. Also, bacon. You’ll see.
Firebeatz & Dubvision ft. Ruby Prophet – Invincible (Original Mix)
This electro-house track has Ruby Prophet’s vocals and adds a soothing, slower pace that is able to build up to the loud and fast drops of “Invincible.” This has a big-room sound, but in a good way – you’ll hear this in the club or at festivals soon for sure.
Alison Wonderland – U Don’t Know (Just A Gent Remix)
I missed this song a few weeks ago, but it is TOO good to not share. Wonderland’s track is turned into what Just A Gent has dubbed a “love trap” anthem. While we’re not sure whas emberging cross genre-wise here, this song does has attractive trap elements and highlights the dope music contributors Alison and Just A Gent deliver. The hook is haunting, and it only gets better as Just A Gent drops in.
Nate Ruess – Nothing Without Love (BYNON Remix)
You’ll hear these vocals and wonder where they’re from – the lead singer of fun. is the one behind this. But BYNON takes this on a journey away from one of their typical tracks, turning it into a wonderful progressive house track that’s will lift your heart and put butterflies in your stomach before your feet start jumping – a lot.

Chris Brown – Ayo ft. Tyga (SIOH Remix)
SIOH goes hard with his future house remix of “Ayo” by Chris Brown. Editing so heavily you can barely recognize it, SIOH kills it with strong drop melody and it’s raw power nature.
