Andy Isaac Hu also known as Feint is an up and coming D.J. from across the pond. Known for his Drum and Bass sound Feint is breaking down walls with his unique sound and heavy drops that satisfy on every level. Tickets for this legendary event can be purchased here for a mere $20. Be sure not to miss this exclusive event as it’ll be accompanied by a round table discussion and VIP dinner after the show. Without further ado, here’s RaverRafting’s exclusive interview with Feint!
RR – Where does the name Feint come from?
Feint- I don’t really know! It was a long time ago and I think I just wanted a catchy one-syllable word. Their isn’t really a story behind it!
RR – Tell me a little bit about your recent release, Words. What went into producing it?
Feint – It started with me writing the main chord progressions, and most of the melodic ideas on my guitar, then fleshing them out! Spent a lot of time trying to get the balance right between the main lead and the bass to create the big wall-of-sound type effect that I love!
RR – How was it working with Laura Brehm on the track?
Feint – What can I say? As usual, working with Laura was really easy! We have done a track before this too and this went equally as smooth. She’s a great girl and really talent!
RR – Are their any vocalists you really want to work with on future releases?
Feint – Too many to list right now! Though I would 100% love to work with Alisa Xayalith from (vocalist of The Naked and Famous), she’s amazing!
RR – What type of new music do you have in the works?
Feint – All sorts! Ranging from heavier stuff to pure liquid – I’m working on some big projects right now and I can’t wait to show everyone!
RR – Is there a specific sound you go for when producing music?
Feint – Definitely, I basically want to be able to make melodic music that I can express myself with at the same time as retaining a lot of energy and intensity!
RR – Do you have any opinion on artists stick to one specific genre?
Feint – Not really. I believe so long as they’re making the music they want to hear and are happy doing so then that’s up to them! I make music in other genres but most of it I don’t release.
RR – What other types of music do you enjoy listening to?
Feint – Everything from classical to deep techno to be honest. Bon Iver to Burial, I think that something in every genre has something to teach you and has a story to tell you!
RR – You have an up and coming performance with Varien and Fox Stevenson in NYC, will this be your first show in NYC?
Feint – Yes! And a first for the US too. I’m really excited and nervous at the same time to see how my style of playing will go down!
RR – Any big plans for the debut performance at Webster Hall?
Feint – Actually no; just going to showcase what I do really! Apart from that, I may have some new tunes to drop.
RR – Can you compare the dance scene in the UK to over here in the States?
Feint – Not really, since I have never been to the US! From what I’ve heard, drum and bass isn’t huge over there so it’ll definitely be interesting to see the reactions!
Feint will be featured in our RaverRafting Hangout event where you will get the exclusive chance to attend a round table and pick the artist’s brain before the show, and after attend a special dinner with Fox Stevenson, Varien, and Feint. Do not miss your chance! You can purchase tickets for the Webster Hall show here, and tickets for the V.I.P. experience here.
