It’s no secret that Los Angeles pumps out a massive amount of producer talent for the US, and today’s artist mix simply strengthens that claim. Meet Revoke, an LA 20-year-old gaining radio play from a remix collaboration with Candyland on Adventure Club’s “Gold.” The single has more than 1 million plays and earned a number two spot on the HypeM charts.
He’s been busy too; on Revoke’s SoundCloud you’ll find remixes of Katy Perry and Cash Cash, plus a new release for Australian pop songstress, Lenka. Fashion and culture magazine, “The Wild” promoted the official remix this week, scope it out here.
Acts like Dirtyphonics, Krewella and Cash Cash already know what we do, this RaverRaftingRadio artist is only headed up from here. Download “Gold” and other Revoke tracks for free here, what a guy, and of course go one deeper with Revoke exclusive mix above.

Interview
You’re growing for several reasons, one being your ultra-bass heavy sound that’s hard for others to match, where did this style come from?
Well, I draw inspiration from various cultures & genres. Our DNA is made up of only 4 bases, but the variation of their order is what makes us all unique & infinitely different. I think music works in a similar way. I try to take different elements from different sources of inspiration…from Trance to Happy Hardcore to Bollywood to Orchestral to Drum & Bass to Rap & 90s House I’ve heard growing up(the list goes on) & mash it into a medley of sounds that represents me, my musical DNA so to speak.
What was your favorite track to produce?
My remix of Wilsen’s Magnolia definitely, that one was really fun to work on & just ended up coming together super well. I knew I had to remix it as soon as I heard it, the ideas were already there.
You’ve done digital events, like Plug.dj, and also live events, like concerts, do you prefer one platform over the other?
I definitely enjoy both, but there’s something intimate about online events. On sites like Plug you get to let loose, crack some jokes, & just chat with people who’re fans of your music. This one time during a Plug show, an artist was having some technical difficulties, so some random dude got on the decks & started playing videos on how to make corn on the cob & endless loops of the Power Rangers theme song …doesn’t get more intimate than that.
As a producer, is it hard for you personally to finish tracks?
That’s the bane of my existence, it’s those last stages that are the hardest. That last 10% of a track are where you’ve probably heard it too many times to count & your perspective gets skewed. Once the honeymoon phase of “OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST FUCKIN TUNE I’VE MADE SO FAR” is over, it can get really hard to finish a track. The best solution to that is to get a track to as close to done as possible while you’re in that creative flow state, or just take a break from it for a while & come back with a fresher perspective & just push through it. I’m getting better at that with experience, can’t be too critical or you’ll never end up releasing anything haha.
Do you ever hit a creative block? What do you do to relax and get around that?
All the time, it’s a natural part of life & is rooted in our desire to keep progressing I think. I think creative blocks are your mind’s way of telling you to not get too comfortable with where you’re at, there’s always that next level. When I’m having a block I usually read The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, Mastery by Robert Greene, or just watch a shit ton of documentaries about Earth to put things into perspective.
What would your dream tour, as far as lineup and show production, look like?
Where do I begin? Hmm…I think one of the most important parts of being out on the road is to be around people you can have some laughs with, would be fun to tour with the pals Foxsky, Andromulus, & Rob Gasser. I think it would be cool if the stage was a giant ball of lead spinning at 400mph
What’s your favorite country and why?
Earth lol. We all just neighbors on a spinning rock flyin’ thru space, nah mean?
What’s in store for the future? Any tours or new releases on labels?
Been locked in the studio for the past couple months. Just finished a small EP that I’ll be shopping to labels soon! Also just finished up a remix for Lenka, so you’ll wanna stay tuned for that. As far as tours go, there are some talks of one right now but I can’t go into much detail as of yet.
