It’s been well over a year since we last heard from Skrillex. Suddenly out of the blue and with little warning, “Kliptown Empyrean” arrives. The track is a relaxed, house-esque vibe with an emphasis on vocal chops and rhythm. It is a good break from the artist’s more bass-heavy releases and is exactly what we need here in 2020.
Skrillex, also known as Sonny Moore, is best known for his very aggressive ‘brostep’ work like Bangarang and Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. His most recent album, while rather controversial for his departure from the genre, debuted number four on the US Billboard 200 chart.
The backstory behind this tune is that he just recently whipped it up in the studio and loved it so much that he decided to release it as a little treat while he finishes up the new album! If this is the direction of his album, we can say gladly then we are eager to hear more!
