In less than two weeks, Das Energi Festival returns to The Great Saltair in Salt Lake City, Utah with an overflowing roster of talent. This year’s lineup includes artists such as Kaskade, Dillon Francis, deadmau5, REZZ, Andrew Bayer, 12th Planet, Chris Lake, Spencer Brown, Tritonal, and we cannot forget the world debut b2b performance from bass heavy hitters NGHTMRE and Snails.
Now these are only some of the amazing acts that will be gracing Utah’s biggest dance music festival. If you look past the headlining acts, you may spot some hidden gems in the mix, aka Salt Lake City’s very own rising stars. If you call SLC home then you’ve likely seen these names appear on countless bills, but if not, let us introduce you to some of these hometown heroes.
SHSTR
First up is none other than producer, composer, and visual artist, SHSTR. At only 20-years-old, he is dominating the scene with his fresh futuristic electronic sound. From his glitch infused original, “Sightless Eyes” to his heavier mid-tempo production, “Never Stop,” the young producer is continually experimenting and developing his sound. With an EP in the works, this rising star is on our radar and should be on yours too. Das Energi set times have not been released yet, but nonetheless, we recommend saving a spot in your schedule for this up-and-comer. Until then, buckle up, press play, and get ready to go on the intergalactic ride of your life with “Never Stop.”
Brian Blurr
If there’s one local artist that has been recommended to us time and time again, it’s house aficionado, Brian Blurr. This local is no newb to the scene, he’s been delivering house vibes to SLC for many many years now. From his solo work to his duo project, Life+, Blurr has really left his mark in the electronic dance world. Over the years, the fan favorite has shared the stage with everyone from Ilan Bluestone , Martin Solveig, Steve Angello, GRYFFIN, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Chris Lake, Above and Beyond, and the list goes on. If your motto is, “it’s all about house music,” then make your way to Das Energi’s Synergy Station on Friday, August 17, for the sounds of Brian Blurr.
Pulse Regime
Hayden Warzek, better known by the moniker, Pulse Regime, is taking the trance scene by storm. The artist utilizes his extensive background in music theory to create both beautiful uplifting and dark trance melodies. Last year, Warzek made his label debut on Raz Nitzan Music with the stunning “Quiet of The Storm,” featuring Northern Ireland songstress, Emma Horan. The track received major support from the industries leading acts, including Mr. Armin van Buuren himself on his illustrious A State of Trance show. The Pulse Family is growing, don’t miss your chance to be a part of it, check out Pulse Regime at Das Energi!
ATL
The Galactic Flats are coming in hot this year! If you’re looking for some heat, then ATL is the artist for you. Hailing from the streets of Georgia, the trap lord has brought the 808’s all the way to Utah. Alongside the Smoke Siignals crew, he has helped exponentially grow SLC’s underground bass music movement. This will be ATL’s third time taking the stage at Das Energi and every year he delivers a filthy set. Check out his set from last year, we recommend using it as your pregame playlist.

Send Smoke Siignals, we’ve got another artist that is sure to set the Galactic Flats ablaze! This DJ/producer is another staple in SLC’s bass music scene. The artist has played as direct support for dance music’s elite, including artists such as Caspa, Rusko, Getter, Herobust, and more. You can catch him going b2b with Ill Deff at the Flats on Friday, August 17.
