Spektrem are a DJ/production duo from Washington, DC. They just wrapped up a tour across Florida with Krewella and have been really busy in the studio. Today they released their debut EP titled ‘Enter The Spektrem’, it consists of three originals and one remix.
‘Loretta’ kicks things off with high electro house styled energy, the melodies are menacing, the builds are tight, and the drops seem more progressive but are supported by a piercing kick drum. ‘Shine’ throws in a heartfelt vocal to mix things up a bit, it drips emotion but still remains within the realm of uplifting progressive house.
‘In A Dream’ is by far my favorite record off of the ‘Enter The Spektrem’ EP. Although it follows the same path as ‘Shine’, Haneen’s vocals really resonate with me. Her lyrics are clean, moving, and meaningful. The synth work reminds me of a warm summer day and If I close my eyes I can picture myself soaking up the sun on a tropical beach. To follow three smashing original productions, Spektrem roundout their EP by offering their take on Calvin Harris & Example‘s ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’.
Over all this is a fresh sounding set of tunes, I highly recommend that you listen to all four below and pick them up for free.
