Tameloop felt a call to create an anthem that speaks to our anger, our suffering, and validate our experiences through his latest single, “Scraped Sick Thing”. While this track is straight bass-face badassery, Tameloop is inspired by just about any genre of music that exists. His daily listening repertoire can consist of Boards of Canada, Excision, Enya, Lorn, and Stimming to name a few. But of course, the intoxicating sounds of thumping bass and intricate sound design found inside the EDM world and thus Tameloop was born.
The man behind the monster is Joey Torres, an up and coming producer based out of Austin, Texas. He began his journey in 2016, with tracks like “Chronosynclastic” and “Chasing Things” laying the foundation of his sound consisting of big synths, punching bass, and high energy. Streams began to take off for Torres and the amalgamation of what Tameloop is began to take shape. Before the pandemic, he had his debut show opening for Jansten at Weird Wubz hosted by Baked Up. He has also found himself playing livestreams for Electric Movement and the Underland Virtual Music Festival.
“Scraped Sick Thing” was first created back in February this year before COVID had fully shut everything down. Since then he has perfected the track and now we can all enjoy the fruits of his labor. Gritty synths slowly build before are met with a fury of syncopated bass cuts, fat laser sounds, and menacing vocals. If you like it dirty, if you like ferocity, this single will scratch that itch.
Tameloop had this to say about “Scraped Sick Thing”,
I made this song to commiserate with those struggling, validate the struggle, and condemn the need for the struggle. I hope the power of that comes out very clearly when people hear this.
