French producer and future house maven, Tchami, has finally unveiled what he has in store for 2015, and we couldn’t be more excited. In 2014, Tchami was a leader for the future house genre, taking the bubbling sub-genre of dance music and turning it into one of the year’s biggest surprises. Armed with a unique style of bass-focused house music that was perfect for tearing up a festival main stage, Tchami turned in spectacular release after spectacular release, solidifying his reputation as the undisputed father of future house. A year removed from his latest EP, Promesses, and two months removed from his latest release, a remix of Jack U’s “Take U There,” the Frenchman has announced his second EP, After Life, and has revealed the name track of the EP, along with the music video.
In “After Life,” Tchami utilizes a pulsing synth thats paired with Stacy Barthe’s hypnotic vocals to envelop you in a world of flickering shadows and darkness, before smashing through the illusion with a big, heavy synth stabs and a bruising bass line. The music video for “After Life” follows the tragic story of a tortured soul, as he reasons through life, death, and the impending afterlife, before succumbing to his fractured mind and facing the consequences.
After a breakout year in 2014, Tchami continues to not only push the boundaries of house music today, but also re-define the house music of tomorrow.
