Heading into summer, it would be expected for The Golden Pony to release another chilled out vibe ready for pool days and beach vacations, but this is The Golden Pony and if it’s one thing we’ve learned about this unique duo, it’s that they never play by the rules.
Released on Tipsy Records, the upbeat but emotional melody includes well written lyrics, amazing vocals from JT Mak, yet a tempo still perfect for dancing. This track was a special release for the two, we got the chance to have a little insight on the creation of this amazing track, sure to be on our playlist for the rest of the season and on.
“Lost Yourself”‘s first version was written in a cold hotel room in Vegas while in retreat from the dilapidated glamour the capital of Midwestern sin offers. It’s gone through many versions since then, and transformed into a story about emotional dishonesty (with yourself and others!), in a really amazing collaboration with J.T. Mak. It seems very on-brand to us to release our darkest-themed song ever right as summer kicks off! – The Golden Pony
