In speculation of promoting their new album, Alt-J’s Thom Green, has been slowly releasing brilliant remixes from some well-known artists. Thom has been releasing his remixes from the Alt-J Facebook page, which makes us wonder if he is trying to promote their upcoming EP with some new tunes. This is All Yours debuted on September 22nd and is producing buzz throughout the world.
Could Thom’s recent releases contribute to the band gaining some non-traditional newer fans? Perhaps, but his remixes are note-worthy without the Alt-J buzz. Thom can definitely stand alone in this genre. It is refreshing to see an artist branch out of a different style than what he is known for. Here are a few tracks that are on our radar.
Grouplove- Ways to Go (Thom Alt-J Remix)
This is a great chill mix of the very popular Ways to Go from Grouplove. Thom produces a great new sound with this familiar song. He hits it out of the park with house-like melodies and distorted voice samples.
Phantogram- Never Going Home (Thom Alt-J Remix)
This song was originally produced for The Walking Dead, so when Thom got his hands on it, he gave it a grungy re-work. He used low bass tones with a slower BPM to create an eerily remixed version of Phantogram’s famous song.
Radiohead- Nude (Thom Alt-J Rework)
This remix shows Radiohead’s true colors with its use of slow beats and orchestral riffs. Thom does a great job of channeling Radiohead’s raw emotion in this track.
Heavenly Recordings -Shut Eye (Thom Alt-J Remix)
This track has a far east influenced sound with its instrumental and vocal pairings. It is more of an upbeat mix with a laid-back undertone. This song is great for those indie-electro listeners.
Bonus: Dazed Mix- Alt-J
This trippy mix samples everyone from Lana del Ray to Clams Casino. It is very diverse in its samplings. Mostly compiled of European sounds, this playlist is a great rainy day or chill night time mix.

This playlist is my personal favorite of all tracks listed. Thom Green does a great job of seamlessly combining various sub-genres of EDM to produce a quality dance-worthy party mix. He samples everything from trance to trap while hitting everything in between. Without missing a beat, this mix creates a diverse atmosphere of EDM tracks.
Whether Thom Green is producing remixes and originals through his side project or drumming with Alt-J, he has proven that he is a very talented producer/musician. He is making a name for himself as a producer, and we hope to see him in the scene as he progresses and evolves.
