Welcome to week 17 of Throwback Thursday! Even though we’re slowly wrapping up the holiday season we’ve still been scouring our old music libraries to bring you a throwback track that will hopefully kick off your weekend a day early. Last week, we covered the Calvin Harris remix of The Killers’ “When You Were Young”. This week we’ll be also be featuring a remix, however it’s from none other than Avicii with his remix of Armin Van Buuren’s “Drowning” Ft. Laura V. The 2011 mix feels like a lifetime ago, but its production and sentimental value still hold true even nine years later. The track would prove to be a staple in Avicii’s early career and it regularly made rounds on the festival circuit all those years ago (and still does today).
This is the second Avicii track/remix that we’ve featured in our Throwback Thursday series and it certainly won’t be the last. The late producer has a heap of old tracks that helped define his early career in the 2010 era, so we’ve got plenty of time to cover his music repertoire. Nine years later this remix still brings us to chills and makes us miss Tim even more. Enjoy this throwback and we’ll see you next week.
