The Ocean Casino Resort and HQ2 Nightclub/Dayclub have put their efforts behind saving one of America’s oldest and most beloved roadside attractions known as: Lucy The Elephant. Originally created by James Lafferty all the way back in 1881. The idea and purpose of Lucy was that buyers would be more apt to purchasing land holdings along the cost of Margate (previously called South Atlantic City.) Lucy ended up taking on a life of here own and becoming much more iconic entity.
An in-demand hotel was built near Lucy and everyone from Presidents to royalty would stay in this hotel and thus explore the nearby Lucy, climbing her stairs, and hanging out in her high howdah.
Making a long story short, by the 1960’s attention started dropping off and Lucy almost was no more. In the 1970’s the Save Lucy Committee purchased her where then she was then moved to the current location she is at today.
Today, Lucy is in need of restoration and 1.5 million of 2 million has been raised to restore her. To help reach the total goal, The Ocean Casino Resort and HQ2 Nightclub/Dayclub have put together an epic benefit featuring A-list artists to help achieve this.
From August 5th – 8th, you can catch some of the biggest names in music where the proceeds will go directly toward the fund to restore Lucy and thus all us all hold on to one of America oldest and greatest attraction treasures.
