Tommy Trash and Wax Motif are both known for their progressive house music. When their single “Hex” came out, we expected their typical fist pumping sound. What we found months later, was a beautifully emotional deconstruction of their house track, “Hex.”
Trading in their heavy electro beats, Tommy Trash and Wax Motif decided to create their own spin on “Hex” with world-renowned classical musicians. Trash and Motif arranged their big room tune with the help of Daniel Heath. Scored with orchestral strings and piano, you can feel the raw emotion coming from this once trancy track. The duo filmed their recreation in the studio with a handful of some of the best classically trained musicians. The outcome was a creatively emotional take on their once powerful single.
We are thrilled to see DJs step out of their comfort zone to create different renditions of their tracks. Compare their incredibly intricate deconstructed remake with the original and you get two completely different sounding tracks. Yes.
