Major News Early
Ultra Music Festival will make a major announcement tomorrow, Thursday, May 2nd at 1pm EST. The South Beach staple dropped the news via facebook through an image of a large ticker.
This announcement will be the first of three, all of which will be tied together to address the issues fans experienced this past year at Ultra 2013. Ultra said they listened and are on the proactive to improve the experience for returning festival attendees and those hitting the 305 for their first time.
Goodbye Bayfront Park?
It is believed that Ultra Music Festival will break news that they will not be returning to Bayfront Park next year. By far the biggest concern and problem from fans was the over crowding and that the event had out-sized it’s current home. Also, it’s fact that the business district surrounding Bayfront was no longer fond of the 150,000 person per weeknd international attraction. (see this petition).
Perhaps a return to Bicentennial Park? Or might Ultra have found a new haven in Miami to call home for the coming years? One thing is for sure, they won’t return to Bayfront after last year.
Why Daft Punk Will Headline
Ultra 2014 will only grow in every facet. Production will be larger and headliners will top that of Swedish House Mafia’s final set together. Remember this tweet from UMF regarding “something Daft and never punking out?”
We are firm believers that you can bet on the French duo’s attendance next year. With a new album nearing release, Daft Punk‘s return is inevitable and is the only true move for Ultra who promises to top the performances in 2013.
Remain calm for now, as artist announcements aren’t expected to happen until at least December due to the inner workings of management and contractual agreements.
But like we’ve said before. It all adds up: Signing to Columbia Records (affiliated with Ultra) + attended SHM final set as guests + recent confirmation of new album + Ultra tweet. Coincidence? Doubt it.
